Kota Bharu : I'm in love

Guess it's a bit late but never too late to wish everyone Salam Ramadhan and may you have a blessed time in this holy month.  And welcoming the month of Syawal with arms wide open although beginning to feel sad that Ramadhan is coming to an end....there's nothing like the magic of this holy month.

Kota Bharu.  Verdict? I'm in love. With the city. The food. Oh, not the heat, though.  Yang geram tu ore Kelate semua putih melepak despite the blinding heat... mana aci cam gini...

But yes, I'm in love with Kota Bharu.  Nanti-nanti kalau ada masa, will write a lil bit more on the beloved city of mine.. yes, I think I luv Kota Bharu right after Johor Bahru.  The city has a personality and a touch of its own.

Proud to say here that I am now familiar with the main roads of the city of KB.  Jalan Sultanah Zainab, Jalan Kebun Sultan, Jalan Telipot, Jalan Hamzah, Jalan Gajah Mati, Jalan Kuala Krai, Jalan Hospital, Jalan Pengkalan Chepa, Jalan Sultan Ibrahim... and lots more.  Stayed at the luvly Grand Riverview Hotel, with a view of the river.

Later, uccay.  Once again, I LOVE KOTA BHARU. :)

Lovely Kelantan Part I

Dalam bercerita-cerita pasal Kelantan, let's have a zoom at the state itself. My last visit was a few years back, time tu sebenarnya ke UiTM Dungun, to support UiTM Johor debate team. Then time nak balik tu, tah cemana our lecturers boleh ter'taksengaja'ly ajak kami ke KB. Sempatla ke Pasar Besar tu, tengok tengok sebelum balik ke Segamat semula. Dan I plak, dah sampai Segamat kena balik JB.. alahai jauhnya...

1. Jajahan Kota Bharu
2. Jajahan Pasir Mas
3. Jajahan Tumpat
4. Jajahan Pasir Puteh
5. Jajahan Bachok
6. Jajahan Kuala Krai
7. Jajahan Machang
8. Jajahan Tanah Merah
9. Jajahan Jeli
10. Jajahan Gua Musang

Dan sebagai seorang yang menyintai island and beaches dengan sepenuh hati, maka dah jatuh wajib I letakkan gambar pantai di sebuah perkampungan nelayan yang sangat cantik di Kelantan ni...so beautiful and serene. Imagine taking a long walk by the beach... sangat nyaman dan cantekkk...

Memang asyik kalau tengok. Wau juga lambang syarikat penerbangan Malaysia Airlines.

Okay, nanti sambung semula Part II. Tunggu I, tau!

Wall Art

Sepetang di Eliza @ Nusa Bestari. Saja je menyibuk ikut parents gi beli bedroom furnitures untuk bakal pengantin. Lama dah ni, a few weeks back. I memang minat gak interior decoration ni. Saja je suruh Lin snap gambar-gambar wall art tu dengan lampu tu. Actually lampu tu I sendiri snap. Susah gak nak cari angle yang baik sebab lampu tu terang sangat. Cantik la wall art dia, bright colors. Yang gambar last tu cam patio furniture je. Berkenan la, simple and elegant je.

They helped, too...

entry ni sebenarnya related to the previous one, i.e Production House. Bakal-bakal pengantin ni pun sama tolong sudahkan bunga - bunga telur ni... (kes i malas nak sambung kat entry tadi la ni eheh).

Production House

Ingat tak, dulu-dulu ada citer pasal ikat ribbon kat bunga telur? A few weeks back, my aunt ada ajar kitaorang cara-cara nak pasang flower sepal, daun dengan sarung letak telur pada tangkai bunga telur tu.

close-up

maka kita pun pasangkan sepal dia, tidy it with a green tape. ni antara step yang paling tidak digemari... susah sangat nak bagi dia betul-betul lekat pada kuntum bunga. kekadang siap terlepas daripada green tape tu.. eeeee...

then bila dah lepas azab lekatkan sepal, kita teruskan kerja-kerja perlilitan green tape... (perlilitan, NOT perhilitan, okay)

teruskan melilit, tapi jangan laju sangat...

Azab, sebab dawai tu degil, payah betul nak ikat ketat-ketat supaya sarung tu tak bergerak. Dawai tu bukan panjang pun, kemudian kalau guna plier untuk matikan ikatan dawai tu, kalau tak pandai boleh putus dawai tu... so terpaksa la ikat dengan tangan... susah, mau berkali-kali ikat... (*&*()%$#^&+-X!!!!!!)

Kiranya cepatlah siap, sebab my three sisters pun sama-sama buat. Lepas ni Production House kita berlima boleh focus pula pada kerja-kerja lain, kaedahnya hehehe...

My First Apple Crumble

Thursday evening, my main focus was on baking an apple crumble - my very first try. Yalah, malam tu kan birthday celebration for my brother - DC. Kononnya kalau okay nak jadikan salah satu hidangan untuk malam tu.

Dapat inspiration nak buat Apple Crumble ni lepas baca blog Cik Mimi Glasgow kita. Resipi memang ikut resipi Mimi, cuma kata Mimi, kena pandai-pandai adjust dan alter.

Results : Boleh kata 90% menjadi la Apple Crumble I ni. Cuma dia tak berkawan. According to Mimi, lebih sedap kalau makan dengan Custard Cream.

Sebelum masuk oven...

Bila dah siap....

Hmm, gambar-gambar ni tak berapa clear, sebab camera tak ok dan lampu dapur pun agak malap time tu. Tapi diaorang kata rasa dia okay (tatau la kot nak jaga hati je hehehe). Rasa dia masam-masam manis. My Auntie pula kata, sama dengan Mimi, apple crumble ni tak perlu dipotong, hidangkan saja dalam pyrex. The problem is, masa bakar dalam oven, I guna acuan bulat macam dalam first photo tu, jadi kenalah potong dan hidangkan dalam pinggan. Tak suitable lah hidang dalam acuan tu. :)

To Mimi, thank you so much sis, for the recipe and guidance. Credit goes to Mimi for this. Nanti kalau ada recipe lain bolehlah ajar, kay? *wink*

The First Day In School

I saw the news of children during their first day in school in Nightline just now. As always, macam-macam gaya ada. Fuiyoh, rajinnya kau nak oiii.

Apa pun, rasa bangga ada, terharu pun ada. Dalam menangis, dalam excited tu semuanya pergi juga sekolah for the sake of menuntut ilmu. Very united. Ada pula yang confident, senyum aje when interviewed, pandai betul bercakap. Very good.

Hmm maybe this has something to do with getting older (heheh). I get a little bit more sensitive lately. Then masa banjir tu, nampak visual baby tergolek tidur dalam dewan pusat pemindahan banjir. Masa tu rasa kesian sangat-sangat tengok. Yalah kesian dia tidurlah dalam dewan tu tergolek atas lantai. And now anak orang lain yang pergi sekolah I plak tak pasal-pasal terharu...

Betullah tu.. dah tua. Either that, or it is just my Naluri Sufi. Aiseh... ;)

Thomas and Kampung Boy

You guys say what you like, but none of it will stop me from declaring that I am now a die-hard fan of Thomas The Tank Engine (Channel 613) and Kampung Boy Cartoon (Channel 611) in ASTRO. Oh, and Thomas in Kids Central in MediaCorp, too. (MediaCorp = Singapore Broadcasting Corporation).

At first, I cuma temankan my niece watch the cartoon and all. Tapi nampaknya sekarang I dah melampaui batas. Mengalahkan my niece la pulak.. I sampai hafal the schedules for Barney and Noddy, okay ('tak sengaja'ly).

Well, Kampung Boy tu memang tak payah katalah.. I've been reading LAT's since the age of three. By read, I mean READ. I could read since I was three, no joke.

Tak kisahlah, nak kutuk, kutuklah. Tapi sebelum mengutuk, cuba tengok dulu Kampung Boy, Thomas or even Noddy. Lepas tu, jangan addicted sudahlah. (But I especially like the singing part in Thomas, since I have great singing voice, ahem!)

They're two they're four they're six they're eight

Shunting trucks and hauling freight

Red and green and brown and blue

They're the really useful crew

All with different roles to play

Down the hills and round the bends

Thomas he's the cheeky one

James is vain but lots of fun

Percy pulls the mail on time

Gordon thunders down the line

Emily really knows her stuff

Henry toots and huffs and puffs

Edward wants to help and share

Toby, well let's say, he's square

Especially YOU - you who will know when you read this.

How Lovely

i must admit that i enjoy watching children... a week after Aidilfitri we took Anis to a playground. she enjoyed it so much, no doubt. but i particularly like watching this one little boy in the photo below. he barely knew my niece, but he's been inviting her to play with him, even offering to give her the green ball. for reasons not even i could explain, i love to observe this little boy. Dia ni macam so active, nakal, and yet kind-hearted and very friendly. The best thing was that he seemed to enjoy himself very much, indifferent to the surroundings. I like this little boy. Hope I will see him again.

~ this one is my personal favourite ~

Kids, they are just wonderful and lovely.. tak kisahkan apa pun, they are simply friendly and sincere. Unbiased and not prejudice. I love them. I love them all.

Eternal Love

Punyalah sayang kan.. sampai buat cookies pun letak nama my lover ni...ahahahaha... presenting The Dalton Wholemeal Cookies. Like I said, I akan attempt lagi buat kuih raya yang tak jadi haritu. So malam tadi dengan guidance from my SIL The Lakeside Cafe Pastry Chef, berjaya juga buat kuih raya ni.

Happy betul dapat buat. Last night my sisters were having friends over - beraya lah. So after the baking was completed it was a late night buffet-supper for my SIL, my brother and me in the kitchen.

Maybe, well just maybe, after this nak attempt bake a cake pula.. to be named Dalton too.. *wink*

Doa Seorang Kekasih

Doa Seorang Kekasih
(In-Team)

Oh Tuhan
Seandainya telah Kau catatkan
Dia milikku tercipta untuk diriku
Satukanlah hatinya dengan hatiku
Titipkanlah kebahagiaan

Ya Allah
Kumohon apa yang telah Kau takdirkan
Kuharap dia adalah yang terbaik buatku
Kerana Engkau tahu segala isi hatiku
Pelihara daku dari kemurkaanmu

Ya Tuhanku
Yang Maha Pemurah
Beri kekuatan jua harapan
Membina diri yang lesu tak bermaya
Semaikan setulus kasih di jiwa

Kupasrah kepadamu
Kurniakanlah aku pasangan yang beriman
Bisa menemani aku
Supaya ku dan dia dapat melayar bahtera
Ke muara cinta yang Engkau redhai

Ya Allah
Kumohon apa yang telah kau takdirkan
Kuharap dia adalah yang terbaik buatku
Kerana Engkau tahu segala isi hatiku
Pelihara daku dari kemurkaanmu

Ya Tuhanku
Yang Maha Pengasih
Engkau sahaja pemeliharaku
Dengarkan impian hambaMu ini
Jangan Engkau biarkanku sendiri

Agar ku bisa bahagia
Walau tanpa bersamanya
Gantikanlah yang hilang
Tumbuhkan yang telah patah
Kuinginkan bahagia di Dunia dan Akhirat
PadaMu Tuhan k
umohon segala.....

I first found this song at Mimi's blog. I love this one, and I also love Impian Kasih by In-Team. I am a bit busy these days. Will write something the soonest possible.

Never Boring

Aha, this one is never boring. Very energetic and cheerful all day. Walking endlessly around the house. Reminds me very much of my childhood, when I was the only little one at my grandmother's. Playing on my own. Have so many toys. And books. Being alone is never an issue, as long as there are a few grown-ups around. Yes, until now my friends are normally way way older than I am. (Friends, alright, when I say friends, it means FRIENDS)

Look at her. She's tall, isn't she? Always on the Go. Always. Her vocabulary is very extensive now. Both English and Malay. She stays close to her great-grandma everyday, and the very first thing she does every morning is to look for her great-grandma in the next room.

Although sometimes I lose temper because she is too "adventurous', but she remains to be my best friend. I just worry for her safety because she is not afraid to try anything. But the sweetest thing is when she does not know the name for something, she would simply say it in her own language heheheheehe. Hentamlah Nayniss, asalkan boleh.

Dendam Tak Sudah

Yeah, Dendam Kesumat dah jadi Dendam Tak Sudah.

Cannot write much here. Will write it in my new restricted place. Susah, kalau ada api dalam sekam hehehehe.

Anyways.. I can only say.. from Sunday's very close encounter.. DEFINITELY there are some sparks between us. DEFINITELY.. very close, you know.. very. The best part is, I didn't expect that there would be sparks!

I have decided to do a follow-up on this.

Yeah.. like I said, the recent weekend was verrrryyy eventful *grins*

Him : Another You

I cannot write much about him, the new friend of mine. If you want to put it that way. A 'friend'. *smiles* *wink*

For one, there's My Jedi Knight in here. Then there's these intruders, or penyibuk, take your pick. The kind of people yang menyibuk stalk blog orang and thought people do not know.

Third, he might know about this blog, so tak mahulah dia perasan *wink* Maybe I should put his sms in an archive... a password-protected archive.

Suffice if I say I ingatkan dia garang, rupanya he is so naughty. And s**y. Like I told him on Saturday night. But I know I like his style. A real man. Another forbidden one. From high above. *wink*

I will write about him in a special place. Special restricted place.

But what shall I call him? Ideas, anyone?

Cupcakes By Lakeside Cafe

the dough was divided into four portions, to get four different colors

these cuppies belum masuk oven yet...

the final product ~ a cupcake with the signature
of the Lakeside Cafe owner

this one with the Lakeside Pastry Chef's signature

yummy cuppies

more yummy cuppies.....

Notes :

Many special thanks to Miss Shida Aziz of Sweetfrosting for her very precious guidance.

1. To Princess, Wira, Mimi, Strawberry, Nia, Jidan, & Yati ~ kalau I dah terer buat nanti I will bake cuppies with your respective initials on it, I promise.

2. The cake was great.. mega-delicious.. the icing, well first of all we didn't manage to "simen" the cupcake surface..tersalah teknik ke apa.. and the syrup for the icing also tak jadi.. but the icing tasted good.. sebab cake dah manis, so icing tak perlu terlalu manis.

3. The toppings, well this was our first try so tak dapatlah nak come out with designs yang illustrious like those of Sweetfrosting's. Lagipun kita tengok Sweetfrosting punya cuppies just to get some ideas. Those are the work of professionals. Bukan senang nak tekan the tube and decorate. Sudahlah icing tu licin hehe.

4. The photos are supposed to be brighter than that, but the person in charge di photo shop tu tak edit dulu before printing, so tak berapa clear. Those photo are from the phone camera.

5. Silakan menjamah cupcakes, the trial version of Lakeside Cafe.

The Growing Jedi

I love this Jedi Youngling unconditionally and wholeheartedly. She has acquired so many skills now. She can repeat the Alphabet and Numbers after me... but she doesn't know which one is which yet. Loves to sit with me whenever I am reading the newspapers and pointing her finger at the pages.. as if she is reading too.. Has a very extensive english vocabs now.. banana, fish, put, baby, car, flower, grass and lots more. She seems to understand English better than the Malay Language.

Food is the way to her heart... offer her some, and she will be by your side - until the food is finished. But she does not really like to eat her own meal portion - rice, vege and fish. But when people are having lunch or dinner or even having some cakes or biscuit, she will kenen-kenen a bit of everything. Fav line would be "Nak!" Also... "Air!"

Very tall (juz like her Dad and Aunt heheh). She wears clothes the size for the four-years-old. And she's only one year and three months. Very active, very cheerful, and very nakal also *wink*. Definitely a smiling baby. But can be very obedient too, you know. At the sound of Azan (the call for prayers), she would urge everyone to ssshhhhh, in respect of the Azan. The same goes with the recital of Quranic Verses or anything recited in Arabic. She can actually identify the Arabic language.

these days I love taking her everywhere I go.. she behaves really well, the darling baby. she just loves to go out. she has such passion for life.. full of zest.

Going Places

Dad got back from Jakarta yesterday afternoon. All I asked for when he called was this :

and this is my fav page... I love the deco but NOT the curtain... reminds me of Gone With The Wind... but I also get a beautifully embroidered telekung sembahyang....
