@ JB City Square

a long due entry, this was during a week after Jedi Youngling's second birthday (April 19). Kokti, Jedi Youngling and myself went to JB City Square with one similar objective in mind. Unfortunately, for some inevitable reasons, kita tak dapat nak melaksanakan objective tu. So we walked to SDS and had a late breakfast (or an early lunch, take your pick).

mama busy, dia pun busy tengok menu...

" mama wants this..."
".. and I want this..."
Okay!

tak ingat air apa yang kita order.. but the fancy glass tu air for Kokti, the shorter glass for Anis and yang dalam cawan was for myself.

ni... Singaporean Fried Mee ke apa nama dia.. verrry inviting kan?

bubuh sikit dalam plate lain, share sama itu adik baju pink ;)

while I opted for Chicken Spaghetti.. biasalah born Italian, what to do..

Makan dengan Mama...

Minum pun Mama dia suap...

while waiting for Kokti to get something for DC, we walked around.. snap some photos..

macam-macam gaya, terkejar-kejar Mama dia ikutkan dia, sedangkan Mama pun tengah cari cookbook sebenarnya...

dah beli buku, kita pun turun nak pergi carpark...

Kalau nak tahu cerita seterusnya, tunggulah entry selepas ni, okay? Mungkin ada sedikit surprise untuk sesiapa yang bertuah.. TUNGGU!

Be Nice To People

Dia selalu kata "Be nice to people".

Yeah, I just picked up the house line. It was a call from a rather well known florist in this city. Something about the flower arrangement for the wedding.

One can always tell if a person is classy or not. And in this particular case, the person calling was indeed the daughter of the owner of that business. She was looking for my Mom. But the way she spoke, though simple, told it all. She was courteous, polite, humble yet she sound so classy.

I mean she could have been arrogant, or proud, or anything. You could call them the florist to the Crown here. They are in charge of royal functions, too.

But no, they are nice people, despite the fact that they own a well-known business.

That's what classy means. Virtuous. Some people may look classy, but the moment they speak, it's all rubbish. What a tragedy.

Virtue is the truest nobility ~ Miguel De Cervantes

Kalis Rindu

Kalis Rindu (Elyana)

Desiran daun dihembus angin
Tin kosong dan tong golek ke kaki
Membelah sunyiku
Menonton bayang wajahmu di minda

Kala ku sendirian terpisah jauh
Beerti tanpamu

Babak penantian
Satu ujian
Sekuat mana cinta

Ku tak mungkin
Kalis rindu
Kalis pilu
Bila kau tiada bersamaku
Pendam rindu
Pendam pilu
Hingga kau menjelma ah aww…

Berdiri ditingkap merenung ke luar
Lihat kekasih ku yang basah berjalan dalam hujan
Beserta senyuman
Lama ku nantikan

Sekian detikan waktu berlalu
Di alam berkasih
Menjadi rakaman yang berharga
Tak terharga yang berharga

feeling very exhausted... tengok tv pun apa yang ada aje. dek kerana tengok tv segala macam, tertangkap la lagu Kalis Rindu ni.. sang by one of the AF6 students. Title cam menarik, bila dah dengar, rerupanya the girl in the song tu tak kalis rindu.

Hmm... masalahnya I memang kalis rindu.. heheheheh.. so how????

Jalan-Jalan with Jedi Youngling

I went to Danga Bay with Jedi Youngling yesterday evening. Didn't plan the visit, but haven't been there for a long time. Tapi semalam kesian tengok dia, penat menolong buat preparation for wedding favors, so bawa dia jenjalan.

Memula ingatkan nak naik train.. tapi tengok train tu cam baru nak operate je. Amusement park tu start quite late in the evening.. so we went for a walk by the straits...ewahhh..
saja menyusur tepi-tepi International Restaurant tu.. terpandang lak the tables tepi-tepi pavement, and i was thinking, bestnya lah hai kalau have tea or early dinner by the straits.. angin tiup sejuk je.. hehehe...

then kita pergi naik tram la.. best juga petang-petang.. orang tak ada time tu. memula kita duaorang je.. bila tram nak jalan another couple with two kids naik.. punya la nyaman.. relax je pusing-pusing Danga Bay and festive.. happy je cik kak tu.. dia memang suka jalan-jalan.

yang kelakar bila tram tu stop, time nak balik tu dia siap cakap "bye Darling..." kat sumer orang yang ada kat situ termasuklah pak guard atas motor.. I dah buat selamba je. .. hehehe kang orang ingat aku yang suruh..tapi selalu memang bila Jedi Youngling nak jalan naik kereta with her parents I akan kata "Bye, Darling" to her. She's a fast learner..

bila lalu kat International Restaurant tu, nampak la the tables were laid for the night.. time tu angin tiup.. lembut je.. pastu dia ada pasang lagu.. duet.. sapa tah nyanyi but I swear to God, that song was one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard la kan... memang kena la dengan tepi lautnya.. dengan restaurant nya. hehehe... so dapatlah satu idea.. hehehe ssssyyyyyyyy!!!

after that, kita pergi ke BBU, beli nasi ayam takeaway... yummy! lain kali pergi lagi...best!

Our Uncle Passing

On May 9th, I woke up to the sound of someone knocking doors. I did not realize it was 12:04 a.m until later. I was asleep on the couch since early evening. I thought it was already morning and my sister, Mook, getting ready for work. So I asked her, "Kenapa, Mook?".

Came the reply "Ni Lin lah.. bangun lah, Pak Man collapsed".

(Now Pak Man is our Dad's brother. The one who's really close to our Dad. He was admitted to the Johor Specialist since Tuesday, due to having difficulty in breathing. It all started weeks ago, when he accidentally fell when playing badminton and injured his leg. He resided in KL, but when things did not improve, he came back to JB for further treatment. It turned out that the injury has caused some blood clots which entered his lungs, and eventually disturbed his breathing system. Hence, he was admitted to the Cardio Intensive Care Unit, CICU).

Then I went to her room and asked, "Bila ni? Nak pergi sekarang ke? Pukul berapa ni?"

"Baru kejap, Doctor call. Ni dah pukul dua belas lebih. Cepat la".

According to Lin, our Dad rushed to the hospital with Fahmy minutes ago. Thank God Fahmy and Lin just arrived from Singapore.

So the four of us, Mom, Lin, Faiz and myself sped off to the hospital. (During which time, the medical team pronounced Pak Man in critical condition and was performing all the CPRs and emergency procedures).

When we got there, my brother Firdaus was already there, sitting with Fahmy. We went inside and saw Pak Man lying motionless, with all the wires and equipment and what not. I asked Fahmy what the condition was and he told me that the doctors said nothing can be done...

Cik Ana (Pak Man's wife) and their eldest son Malikin arrived a short while later with Pak Nan (another brother of my Dad). Cik Ana hugged both Lin and me when she entered the CICU. Yes, she appeared to be cool and quiet. Not a single tear was in sight. But I just can't bear to look at them sitting beside Pak Man. Neither Cik Ana nor Malikin was crying, at least not openly, even though they were very, very, very close to Pak Man. In fact, all the children were very close to him.

You see, kalau kita tengok orang menangis dan bersedih at this time, that is expected, right? But to see people being so strong and holding on like that, lagilah buatkan I rasa sangat sedih dan terharu.. I mean, they could cry all the want, but they choose to be strong and dignified.. walaupun dalam keadaan sedih yang tak terhingga tu. Betul-betul respect dengan diaorang.

It really reminded me of the saying "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. ~ Martin Luther King Jr ".

After a while, I went out to sit with my siblings. The doctors were of the opinion that we should bring him home since nothing else can be done. At that time, Pak Man was still breathing.

But when I went inside a little while later, I found Mom, Cik Ana and Malikin sitting quietly together. Then Mom spoke one telephone to someone and was making arrangements to take the body to the mortuary. And that was the time when I realised that Pak Man has passed away. I must say, it was really a shock to all of us, since he was a sportsman, a healthy person and was not known to suffer from any disease.

Later, he was taken to our grandmother's house in Skudai for the last time, and then to Bangi, his final resting place.

Al-Fatihah to him. May Allah Bless His Soul. Amin.

Thankful

I wanna say that I am most thankful for everything that has been granted.. esp when my prayers are answered. Praise be to Allah.

Dan rasanya, that is a strong statement. Paham kot.. tak kisahlah betul ke tak, yang penting kita ni ada vision sendiri. Janji tak kacau sesiapa sudahlah... I could say I am happy and content and thankful for what I have now. For being with my family, for having a wonderful niece, dan segala macam benda yang I am thankful for. Memanglah there are times the path was not that easy, but hey, that's life. And I am still thankful.

Oh, and I am most thankful for Kimi, who would be racing in Turkey this Sunday *wink*.

So, if you ask me, my answer would be, yes, I am thankful. Okay?

90 % : Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

It's not that I do not want to write anything. I am just physically and mentally exhausted.

Yeah I think 90% of my job - as Director of Communication and Invitation - for the wedding, has been completed. 90% of the original list has been signed, sealed and delivered. Now am waiting if Mom or Dad has any additionals. Cut-off date was May 1. Tapi sebab bos-bos besar banyak agenda so, slightly delayed. Sebab there were days yang diaorang kena oustation to deliver the invites.

Kalau dah habis ni, boleh lah beralih ke kerja-kerja lain pulak.
Uh-oh! Sendiri punya list of invites belum siap!! Oklah, nak gi buat ni.. see you real soon!

The Round Table

a late entry. had lunch here with my sister on April 21st, if i'm not mistaken. a late lunch on a very busy day. recommended by Red Devil.

the food - great
the price - extremely reasonable
the place - clean and comfortable
recommendation : high

they also have western selection but we didn't try any. that day kita makan nasi dan lauk-lauk kampung. pretty exotic, the menu. ada siput seduk masak lemak, gulai ikan pari, cencaluk, gulai nangka, ayam masak merah.. but because it was a late lunch, banyak lauk lain yang dah habis. we only paid RM 6 something for the two of us. Sekali dengan air minuman, it was less than RM 10. but for me, it was the lauk-pauk yang nak buat datang lagi. memang sedap.

Who Cares

Exactly. Who cares? That which does not kill you, makes you stronger.

She may be a girl lost in the debris. Like fallen soldiers. And you may not be there. But she survives.

Yes, she doesn't care.

Save The Environment : Environmentally Free Product For Babies

I read an article in The Star newspaper today about the use of cloth diapers to help save the environment. You could find the article written by Tan Ju Eng, here.

I completely agree with the writer on saying that one of the reasons that deter people from "going green" is having to compromise on looks. And yes, from my experience working in the corporate section, "business people do not like to use recycle paper because the economical ones are brownish and rough while the ones that look good are expensive." Another reason deterring people from going green, according to the author , is that it's expensive.

I think both consumers and business owners must play their part to support the move to save our environment. Consumers should turn their attention to environmentally friendly products while business owners who sell environmentally friendly products could play their part by keeping a low profit margin to make it affordable.

The article that I read focuses on the use of cloth diapers for babies to help save the environment.

Pretty: Colourful cloth diapers for babies that are environmentally friendly.

You could also find all sorts of environmentally friendly products for babies at Diapers Etc.

And this one, Nice Cloth Diaper is actually Malaysia-based. Mothers, check this out!! They have all sorts of products (environmentally friendly). From bumwear, mosquito and cockroach repellent, flash cards, traditional toys, etc. Oh, and this thing caught my attention, categorized under 'traditional toys' :

They call it 'Liak Buah'. But I call this "Batu Seremban". Reminds me of my primary school days when we used to play this during recess. I could even made this thing myself back then, no joke. On another note, wow, this is really cool - now we could even buy Batu Seremban online!

Patience

Hmm.. asyik taruk quotable quotes je nih. Hehehe.. biasala nak update properly tak sempat-sempat. Blog my niece lagila banyak nak kena update. Too many overdue pictures. Tak nak la update lebih kurang... sayang. Takpe, pelan-pelan kayuh gitu..

Banyak betul benda nak kena buat. Tidur pun rasa rugi.. cam tak caya je hehehhe.

Anyway ni nak share quote on Patience. Yalah, ada orang tu dulu kata kita ni tak menyabar ..macam infant....

"Our real blessings often appear to us in the shape of pains, losses and disappointments, but let us have patience and we soon shall see them in their proper figures."– Joseph Addison
