What We Did That Day

Now these, are the bunga telur for my sister's wedding (May 2008). Bunga Telur is actually one of the most common form of wedding favors or giveaways. Bunga = Flower and Telur = Egg. From the picture above, the egg would be placed in the tiny piece of transparent cloth and is tied up with strings.

My aunt made all these bunga telurs herself, and last Saturday she came with a boxful of these and two packs of shiny purple ribbons and gave me an assignment. My sole duty was to cut the purple ribbon (into 18 inches long, each) and tie the ribbon around each stem.

Sounds easy enough, isn't it? Not really. The real challenge is to do it neatly and perpendicular to the flower and the leaves. Luckily I learned the skills to do that, and my three sisters voluntarily helped me. By Sunday evening it was done. We are expecting more, once my aunts are done with all 400 stems of flowers in total. They are for the akad nikah and majlis khatam Al-Quran.

And hey, if you are wondering why the color is purple ~ DO NOT ASK ME. Ask my Mom, she selected the theme - purple. But be rest assured that she will have NO SAY in my wedding. None, whatsoever!

On that same day (Saturday) my parents attended like, four weddings. And they brought back so many wedding favors, some of which are displayed here:-

Saturday : Sha, Asz and Kasy

Last Saturday my good friend Sha, her SIL and her gorgeous son Baby Kasyfil came to my house to beraya. It was a joyful occassion for all of us, especially for the younglings as that was the first time for them getting acquainted.

Gorgeous Kasyfil , aged 9 months. Such a happy, independent and charming baby, just like my niece. My sister said Kasyfil ada iras Bruce Willis. And I know he would grow up to be a fine and handsome gentleman.

Two Jedi Younglings

Getting acquainted.... so well.

My niece loves babies, and she and Kasy were getting on so well together. On that day, Kasy was already coughing quite frequently. And unfortunately the very next day Kasy was admitted at Johor Specialist due to some lung infections. But he was discharged on Tuesday and his conditions has improved a lot. I hope Baby Kasyfil has a very speedy recovery. To Sha, I love Kasyfil, he is such a fine, terrific son, always smiling, just like you. To Asz, I hope we could be friends forever too. You two, jangan tunggu raya aje baru nak datang, okay. Thank you for coming.

Saturday : Just Another Story

Yesterday, Saturday, October 27, 2007 was just another Saturday. But it was in no way an ordinary Saturday for me. In the morning I went out with Anis to the Festive to get my usual Saturday papers. I let her ride one of those Donald Duck yang ada kena bubuh token tu.. she was thrilled. I know she wanted to ride it again for the second round, but when people started to gather around her to watch, dia dah tak mahu naik lagi.

Back home, everybody was busy in the kitchen. My sister-in-law was busy since Friday night making cupcakes and I was told that her friends from office would come to beraya on Saturday night. She's making Nasi Tomato and her special Ayam Golek and all.

Then my Uncle and Aunt datang nak visit my Grandma. She brought her homemade Nasi Beringin, berlaukkan Kari Daging, Sambal Sotong and Acar. So tasty, I tell you especially the Nasi Beringin. The smell was so fragrant, macam bau nasi kenduri. Kemudian ada pula Ikan Lais Masak Lemak Cili Api. That was my late lunch. Sebenarnya I baru saja belajar makan ikan sungai since last year, as with some of the ulam-ulaman.

And my sister's friend, Ila datang berhari raya with her hub and daughter Aishah...

And as it was, Aishah and Anis became fast friends, my niece memang friendly..

It was in the late afternoon that my Mom informed me about The Celebration. That left no room for me to escape. Haiya...

Haircut

I went for a haircut today. Actually, just trimming the old one. Layered, of course.

Bukan apa, since the weather pun tak menentu, rasa rimaslah pula. Besides, I am beginning to feel like Munfasa in Lion King... heheheh or Siamang.. RIMAS, RIMAS, RIMAS!

Had meetball bolognaise spaghetti in Pizza Hut today. Nasib baikkk tak ramai orang. I guess semua berebut nak ke Festive Street Mall for the Thai Carnival. At first ingat nak ke Festive juga, to get the haircut.. tapi masa buat U-turn dekat Bukit Serene tu, tengok manusia kusmangat... dengan kereta parked tak menentu... hehehe Cancel dengan jayanya...

lepas makan pergi beli Double Cheese for Lin.. dia la call kata tak jadi keluar dengan Ila.. Faiz sms-ed suruh pick him up at 10pm kat City Square... kemudian Lin kata dia nak pergi ambil pula.. Faiz keluar awal..

sempat lagi pergi Larkin Perdana, nak cari Cheese... lama tak nampak.. last week ada pergi pun tak jumpa.. mungkin dia tak keluar kot hujan hujan begini.. ada la tu berlindung di mana mana.. I hope Cheese is safe...

parents, anis and folks semua gi KL tengok Atok admitted. Yang tinggal aku, lin, faiz. Mas kat campus. Maka bermaharajalelalah kami hehehehe... tapi tak gi mana pun... berkampung depan TV kat bawah je.. ingat nak tidur situ ramai-ramai but..ni pun dah pukul berapa ni... actually tadi aku tertidur kejap, bangun dah almost 3 a.m. ... si Lin sorang je yang jaga..

esok sunday tak tau nak buat apa lagi.. ingat nak stay in, kemas-kemas aje...tengoklah kalau rajin nak cook something dengan Lin... maybe Ayam Ubut Raden Galuh, my Charming Sister's palace recipe....
