I was reading the New Sunday Times earlier on Sunday, when I found this article about the kitab. In malay, it's pronounced as 'Tajul Muluk'. My regal sis asked me about it not so very long ago. But I do not think I have seen or read that kitab.
The Taj-al-Mulk (Royal Crown Of Jewels), written by Sheikh Abbas of Aceh for old Malay royalty, is a compendium on subjects such as astrology, architecture, medicine and even the interpretation of dreams. There have since been many reprints, all in Jawi script, the latest being in the early 19th century and which can still be found in specialised Malay and Islamic bookshops today.

It prescribed foods and herbs that one should eat to maintain good health : prayers that should be recited to bring success for a variety of activities and to ward off disease and evil; and the tools and techniques on how to build a house. (Quoted from The New Straits Times - July 8, 2007)
I found the article rather interesting. The writer even made a comparison on the subject of geomacy between Tajul Muluk, Feng Shui and Vashtu Sastra. And I discovered that the Sri Menanti Palace, which was completed in 1905, was desigend according to the Tajul Muluk principles.
Very interesting indeed.. I think I'm going to find the kitab here in JB.. wanna go and rayau all the bookshops especially those selling buku-buku agama...I hope I will be lucky enough to find it...
