Bits and Pieces

Tomorrow will recommence the wedding preps with Aunt. Last week berhenti for a while, sebab dia nak issue invitations.

Saturday's project was a success with the exception of the cupcake toppings. The cake, the marble cake was mega-delicious. My SIL is definitely an ace in pastries. I told her repeatedly that she should go commercial but she said it's only for families. Well, maybe she should do the specials for our lakeside *wink* The toppings, well first of all I screwed up the syrup, or rather the syrup tu memang suwey. Second attempt was no better either, so we went ahead anyway.

We did not have success on doing the icing decoration. After all it was our first attempt, but it was not that bad actually. My Mom and Sis said it was beautifully decorated. I will post the photos here later on, see for yourself. Later nanti nak cuba lagi, insya Allah we will do much better the next time.

Earlier this evening, pergi tempah baju for my cousin's wedding. Hahaha my vital stats figures declined. YES! YES! YES! Must work out more!

Sincerity

How can a person expects sincerity from someone and is not sincere in return? And call the sincere one 'stupid'? But then again what goes around comes around.

Personally, I have no intention of returning the favor. Besides, apa sangatlah yang I boleh lakukan. I will leave it to God. Allah kan Maha Adil. Untuk apa membuang waktu fikirkan manusia begitu. A complete waste of time. Ikhlas itu adalah rahsia Allah.

Don't think I do not notice. Duly Noted, alright. But I don't see why I should waste my time getting depressed because of people like you. So, keep it up if you like. But don't blame people if you get reactions.

Kayangan

I am DEFINITELY gonna watch this movie kayangan...dah dengar sound tracknya.. memanglah sangat best... I found out about this at the AC talk show.

The Growing Jedi

I love this Jedi Youngling unconditionally and wholeheartedly. She has acquired so many skills now. She can repeat the Alphabet and Numbers after me... but she doesn't know which one is which yet. Loves to sit with me whenever I am reading the newspapers and pointing her finger at the pages.. as if she is reading too.. Has a very extensive english vocabs now.. banana, fish, put, baby, car, flower, grass and lots more. She seems to understand English better than the Malay Language.

Food is the way to her heart... offer her some, and she will be by your side - until the food is finished. But she does not really like to eat her own meal portion - rice, vege and fish. But when people are having lunch or dinner or even having some cakes or biscuit, she will kenen-kenen a bit of everything. Fav line would be "Nak!" Also... "Air!"

Very tall (juz like her Dad and Aunt heheh). She wears clothes the size for the four-years-old. And she's only one year and three months. Very active, very cheerful, and very nakal also *wink*. Definitely a smiling baby. But can be very obedient too, you know. At the sound of Azan (the call for prayers), she would urge everyone to ssshhhhh, in respect of the Azan. The same goes with the recital of Quranic Verses or anything recited in Arabic. She can actually identify the Arabic language.

these days I love taking her everywhere I go.. she behaves really well, the darling baby. she just loves to go out. she has such passion for life.. full of zest.

Going Places

Dad got back from Jakarta yesterday afternoon. All I asked for when he called was this :

and this is my fav page... I love the deco but NOT the curtain... reminds me of Gone With The Wind... but I also get a beautifully embroidered telekung sembahyang....

Scrapbooking

my latest love affair - scrapbooking. been reading and studying about it, and recently when i saw Yatie's wonderful work of art, i felt very motivated to start. i haven't got the appropriate scrabooking tools or the acid-free materials yet. I only have this, which i bought last week :

and this is my first attempt at scrapbooking :

yeah, doesn't look too good. but i am quite satisfied. will try again soon.

Dendam Kesumat : A Follow-Up

- his daughter is getting married early August. naturally the phone number, house and mobile would be printed in the invites. the last 3 digits of his house number and mobile.. is exactly the same as mine, as with my licence plate. how about that, huh? fate or coincidence?

- i just learned that he has a daughter who is a divorcee. interested, anyone? (betapa i tak ambil tahu hal neighbour.. orang lain dah berzaman tahu...)

- the invites for the wedding are neither beautiful nor elegant... the color was 'mak datuk!!!!!!!!!'. this is to say it is really not my color scheme. so not my color scheme. scary!

'Tis the season for Tifosi

Even though my Kimi did not finish the race at Nurburgring, yesterday, but I am still happy. Yes, Massa finished second. Massa is another driver of my Ferrari.
Alonso of McLaren won the race, second was Massa and third was Mark Webber. Yesterday was a race full of dramas as they like to put it, mostly because of the bad weather. Even Hamilton did not get a podium finish. My Kimi had to retire due to a problem with his gearbox or as Ferrari says, 'reliability issues'.
See, I am loyal, very loyal. Even though Ferrari did not win everytime, but I am always with Ferrari through thick and thin. That's how it should be, isn't it? To me it is simple. Just because Ferrari did not win this race, does not mean it cannot win another race.
Best Wished to Ferrari on the Hungarian Grand Prix.

yang satu itu yang jiwa mahu

"jikalau jiwa inginkan satu, yang satu itu yang jiwa mahu"

I 'borrowed' this lovely phrase from my regal sis a long time ago. This was said by a certain regal someone in a very regal place wholly and exclusively owned by my regal sis. I borrowed this with permission and hereby declare that this be my personal tagline. Meaning to say, someone created this lovely phrase and I borrow it. This is not my original phrase.

But in my case, this phrase is every inch applicable. This is to say that when I do want something, then that thing is the only thing that I want, not more not less. Contrary to some people who said they wanted something and yet 'acquired' another thing. Or creature. Or livestock. See, I am not twisted. I am true to my words.

very meaningful, isn't it? those who know, knows. *wink*

Simply Lovely

I love these. They are patterns from greeting cards. They are simply lovely. Other than greeting cards, I also love gift-wrappers. I love to wrap gifts, and am the official family gift-wrapper. I am looking into designing invites for parties and all. For personal events, of course. Nothing commercial. What would I call them? The Lakeside Cafe Design, of course. Patented and Copyrighted by Spectacularwave, 2007.

*Spec Laughs Out Loud*

you see that... tehahahahhahaha another letter calling me to attend the PTD exam. A few days ago my cousin received that letter and today it's me and my SIL. And I haven't even re-registered yet (the thought had crossed my mind, though *wink*).

yeah will he be there? Who? GUESS! At least five people would be able to answer that question. Need I name them? Okay-lah... NP, M, W, NA, J.

for a re-cap, I did pass my first written examination in February, hence qualifying me for the PAC. But I did not attend the PAC.

Artistic Wave

I bought these stickers on Wednesday. For my new cafe project. *smiles* And now i watch Martha Stewart whenever I can. And I am so into scrapbooking too. Konon-konon the artistic wave dah tiba lah konon....

Souls Travel

Souls do travel. My regal sis definitely knows about this.

I posted an entry on this at http://myjedirealm.blogspot.com/

His did. Three nights ago. Praise be to Allah. He may not be right next to me everyday but he is always with me in spirit. That, he did promise to me. "I will always be with you in spirit, Honey". Praise be to Allah, the Creator Of Mankind, the Keeper Of Souls.

The Body Exchange : Part II

I asked my friend regarding The Body Exchange concept.. well, discussed was more like it.. a wonderful man, aged 45 (not my ex-boyfriend). He admitted that he used to 'play the field' too. But slowed down when he found a steady. Yes, I am certain that he was quite a player in his days. How I envy the girls... hehehe kidding...

So I asked him whether he had an 'occasional sliding' after marriage. He said, that's quite normal, plus it would be accompanied with guilt afterwards. I told him that, in my case, of course, I am prepared to make allowances for 'occasional sliding'. Old habit dies hard, after all (see, i am very cool and understanding). Just that it is difficult for me to comprehend the act of men who keep on doing it even after marriage and children, not to mention collecting sluts. I guess the only possible and plausible explanation would be that it is done as a hobby, a favourite pastime, a habit.

He told me, "There is no such thing as 'hobby' in this matter. If one does it too often, then it is not a hobby, it is a sickness. It could also mean he is having a mid-life crisis "

I was all smiling. I said "but in my case he hasn't even reached the middle age yet. So it must be a whole-life crisis".

Independence Day

" If it makes any difference, I never stop loving you"

Star Movies is currently playing the movie Independence Day - one of my favourites. One of my fav scenes is the last moment of the First Lady at the hospital. Very touching.

Of course, one of the reasons I love this movie so much is because of the President. He resembles that certain someone in many things. *grins* But... I fell in love with this movie long before I met him.

Girls' Evening Out Again

Yati, Anis and I went out to buy Beriyani Ayam for dinner @ Restoran Harom Manis, Taman Suria. Actually I yang teringin nak makan, dan kemudian my Mom pun teringin sama.. and we ended up tapau-ing for 5 people. While waiting for the beriyani, we had roti canai and kuah dal. It was yummy. Iced Milo for Yati, Apple Juice for Anis and Iced Nescafe for myself.

Ramai betul peminat Anis dan Yati. Termasuk adik waiter tu. Kalau Yati suruh dia ambilkan apa-apa bukan main lebar senyum hehehe. Kitaorang duduk di meja sebelah luar, sebab hari ini agak panas. So sesiapa yang lalu tu memang nampak all of us. Si Anis pulak hari ini pakai bare-back gown warna merah hati, itu yang menambahkan lagi bilangan 'peminat'. You see, we don't like attention - cukup pantang kalau orang tertoleh-toleh tengok. Tak comfortable. Ikhlas, memang tak gemar at all. Not like some people, kata je tak suka, sebenarnya suka. Tapi tidaklah sampai tarik muka kepada sesiapa yang menegur. Tapi memang tak kenal pun.

Especially myself. Kalau keluar tu, biarlah orang tak notice langsung so that I can go about my business dengan aman dan tenteram.

Dah sudah tu, kitaorang balik rumah. Yati was driving while I hold Anis. Tak sabar tunggu Anis besar sikit lagi. Nanti boleh hang out sama-sama kat mana-mana cafe in the evening. A Cafe By The Sea.. how cool! kebetulan, the three of us.. our names start with the letter A. So it's the 'A' team. Admirable, Adorable and Angel. :D

The Body Exchange

as I was driving back home this evening.. i thought of this concept : The Body Exchange. Why, we used to have the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia), a place for trading shares. So let's talk about another form of exchange here, shall we?

The Body Exchange : Men, especially married men, who are playing the field in full throttle, sleeping around religiously, accumulating mistresses relentlessly, cruising from one girlfriend to another, exposing their wives to STDs. In short, their bodies are like a 'trading' exchange for an endless succession of women (or sluts, depending on the case). These men are not that different from them sex workers (alternate word for h**kers). Ah, but even sex workers do quote a price. They get paid for services rendered. These men, however, along with trading their bodies FOC, they will be the one generously compensating the sluts they are sleeping with. Money, property, gifts - all acceptable.

Appealing, isn't it? Freely available plus money and property and gifts. Verry irresistible package.

Many, many blissful years ago, the higher the education of the bride-to-be, the larger the figures of the hantaran for her. But hello, these days the going trend is : the richer the man, the more obscene the amount of hantaran will be charged (not to mention the acquiring expenses (or shall i say courting?), irrespective of the nature and character of the bride-to-be, whether she is educated, or slutty, or scheming, or of a perampas nature. Love is really blind, yes. *wink*

imagine when one wants to buy a magazine : it's most natural if he or she chooses the brand new, fresh-looking ones, and not the dog-eared ones. Rasa macam tak best kalau beli yang orang dah buka-buka, dah terlipat here and there. Macam beli 2nd hand mags. Now, consider this: how if one of you ladies is unfortunate enough to be married to a man who carries The Body Exchange label. Bukan satu, bukan dua, bukan sepuluh... berpuluh-puluh perempuan have been 'traded' at the body exchange. EYIKESSSS!

but when it comes to choosing a lifelong partner, these men opt for the untouched, the holy virgin, the noble ones. So let us remind them of something which they have conveniently forgotten:

"The fornicator shall not marry any but a fornicatoress or a mushrikah, and none marries her (fornicatoress) except a fornicator or a mushrik : such are forbidden to the believers".

[An-Nur : 3]

A Regal Dedication

Tell me how am I supposed to live without you
Now that I've been lovin' you so long
How am I supposed to live without you
How am I supposed to carry on
When all that I've been livin' for is gone

Didn't come for cryin'
Didn't come here to breakdown
It's just a dream of mine is coming to an end
And how can I blame you
When I built my world around
The hope that one day we'd be so much more than friends

And I don't wanna know the price I'm gonna pay for dreaming
Even now it's more than I can take

NOTE : I dedicate this song to the regal gentleman my regal sis was referring to in the taggy. It's How Am I Supposed To Live Without You by Michael Bolton. Even if he does not read this, i am sure someone will, on his behalf. *wink* To that regal gentleman, if indeed it is more than you can take, well.. you asked for it.

Wedding Preparation

NOT MINE :) .For the past two days, i've been helping my aunt with the preparations for my cousin's wedding next month. this is the bunga telur, and she made this herself. Bunga stokin, indeed. Bayangkanlah dia buat dalam a thousand over.. all by herself pulak tu... my sister pun maybe nanti tempah dengan dia.. me too *wink*. Well, at least the exclusivity is guaranteed. I dah siap ugut dia suruh protect my design... jangan buat untuk orang lain hehehe.. joking, of course.

the entire thing, she did it herself. the only thing yang i buat ialah ikatkan that ribbon. tapi banyak, alright.. a thousand plus.. tadi cuma siapkan one box saja.. esok sambung lagi... semalam kita lipat tiny plastic boxes.. also for doorgift juga..

actually i pun tahu juga buat this bunga stokin.. tapi tak berani nak buat untuk orang.. tak confident heheheh.. i belajar dengan auntie last year.. and i did make bunga teratai. a few of them, for myself... adalah a few hantaran stuffs yang i boleh buat.. but jarang sekali i buat.. i am impatient, remember?

not my style

bittersweet memories..
that is all i'm taking with me..
so goodbye.. please don't cry..
we both know i'm not what you.. you need...

i heard this song when I was in the post office on tuesday morning.. (i will always love you, Whitney Houston). sedih kononnya bila teringat a certain someone.. as I crossed the road to where my car was parked, hehehe I grinned and laughed.. I thought.. who am I kidding? it is just so NOT me nak sedih-sedih lama-lama hehehe..tak jadik la.. nak buat sedih-sedih ni.. the worst part was, terus jadi gelihati...

yeah, i memang tak pandai nak bermuram durja lama-lama.. simply dunno how.. tak masuk langsung.. but.. hehehehe but.. to take up challenges, to stare fear in the eyes to get what i want, to live dangerously... YES, that's me. like the old folks in my kampung said when I was still a little girl... "tak tau serik".

Pet : A True Story

I used to have a goldfish named Precious. And lots of koi fish.

And turtles. AJ and Harry.

Now, I have a rabbit named Bubu.

And lots of cats. (all named).

But maybe nobody has ever guessed that all this while I also have a pet from the reptile family.

It's a copper crocodile, no joke. Name? No need to mention the name. This one has a very human-like name. And human nature. The only thing that resembles a crocodile is his behaviour.

Sounds familiar? Ssshhhhh ! :)

hohohohoh, yes... let's go retro now.. this is my current obsession.. i am doing tons of these.. it's my latest project... roll down to the bottom of this page and you'll find another one... *wink*

BRITISH GP @ Silverstone

It was the Italian National Anthem that was being played at the end of the British Grand Prix 2007 on Sunday.. after the national anthem for Finland, of course.. Yeah... Ferrari won again :) :) :) it's KIMI AGAIN! two wins in a row...

~ Alonso, Lewis and Kimi at the British GP on Sunday ~

Sunday's race was a pretty good fight, though. It was young Lewis in the pole position, followed by Kimi and Alonso and Massa. But during the warm-up lap Massa had some problems with his car.And when Lewis went for his first pit stop and rejoined, Kimi was still the raceleader. And this was the time when I started shouting and screaming and jumping. Later, when Alonso took the lead, I was feeling down again. It was when Alonso had his second pit stop and Kimi was once again the raceleader, that I started screaming again. Yeeeeeehahhhh!

And I see another Schumi in Felipe Massa. He had to start from the pit lane, due to some electrical problems, but finished fifth which was really amazing. Apart from Schumi, only Massa can do that, jumping from the back of the grid to the front.

okay.. nak jadi jahat sekejap.. even though people were expecting Lewis to win as it was his home race, and a certain someone is really, really hoping that McLaren would win the race lah kan.. but, I told you a long time ago.. FERRARI RULES! tak kisahlah kan, Mclaren finished 2-3, but Ferrari was 1st! (penatlah kan turun ke silverstone circuit tu kan..) but what to do.. and please don't be mad when I say this.. after all I am a very devoted tifosi! And don't get me wrong, though.. I like Lewis, too.. but like I said, I am loyal. Extremely loyal to the Red Hot. That's how it should be.. staying loyal through thick and thin, highs and lows.

The Results :

1. Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari)
2. Fernando Alonso (McLaren)
3. Lewis Hamilton (McLaren)

The Kitab Taj-Al-Mulk

I was reading the New Sunday Times earlier on Sunday, when I found this article about the kitab. In malay, it's pronounced as 'Tajul Muluk'. My regal sis asked me about it not so very long ago. But I do not think I have seen or read that kitab.

The Taj-al-Mulk (Royal Crown Of Jewels), written by Sheikh Abbas of Aceh for old Malay royalty, is a compendium on subjects such as astrology, architecture, medicine and even the interpretation of dreams. There have since been many reprints, all in Jawi script, the latest being in the early 19th century and which can still be found in specialised Malay and Islamic bookshops today.

It prescribed foods and herbs that one should eat to maintain good health : prayers that should be recited to bring success for a variety of activities and to ward off disease and evil; and the tools and techniques on how to build a house. (Quoted from The New Straits Times - July 8, 2007)

I found the article rather interesting. The writer even made a comparison on the subject of geomacy between Tajul Muluk, Feng Shui and Vashtu Sastra. And I discovered that the Sri Menanti Palace, which was completed in 1905, was desigend according to the Tajul Muluk principles.

Very interesting indeed.. I think I'm going to find the kitab here in JB.. wanna go and rayau all the bookshops especially those selling buku-buku agama...I hope I will be lucky enough to find it...

Ulam-Ulaman

Okay who likes to eat ulam-ulaman? Me!

these few days, it's Peria Katak or Bitter Gourd (no idea why it is called 'katak' but the peria yang kecil-kecil tu, not the long one). It's good, according to my Dad. Banyak sangat khasiatnya, paling popular ialah to control the sugar level.

I googled Peria Katak and found this, complete with a photo. Check it out :

http://situkang-gambar.fotopages.com/?entry=925813
Yes, rasanya mak datuk pahit. Nasi boleh jadi pahit bila I kunyah dengan peria katak :) But I do not mind at all. Lately rasanya lebih senang makan ulam-ulaman and sayur-sayuran berbanding masa kecil dahulu. I totally hate vege dulu-dulu.

Sekarang, kalau tak ada sayur, tak sah rasanya. But I don't really like sawi. Dulu masa my sis-in-law in confinement period, she had to eat the lobak putih. Itu pun I tumpang sekaki. Sibuk aje, kan heheh. Doesn't taste good, but I like it. And I do eat terung, petola, ulam raja, daun tenggek burung, pegaga, jantung pisang (baru belajar). Tapi sekarang memang tengah gila makan peria katak. Hah terung hutan yang comel-comel tu pun I makan. Internal cleansing konon-kononnya..luckily they are easily available here in JB.

Sekarang ni my aim is to reduce caffeine intake. I memang gila minum Nescafe. Addicted, okay. No good, no good, no good.

But the best part is, bila buat blood test, my blood memang normal dan bersih hehehe. Alhamdulillah. Dunno how, mungkin sebab I selalu minum plain water agaknya. And the doctor siap puji lagi ada this one element in my blood is higher than the average for women. Tak ingat apa dia.. dia kata "kalau perempuan selalunya 6-7, but yours is 11. Which is very good". Tapi i tak ingat apa dia the element. Tapi I did surf the internet, and from my reading, I found out it could be because I don't really drink tea. Yeah, I don't really like tea.

Favourite Quotation

Love is patient and kind;
it is not jealous, or conceited, or proud.
Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;
Love does not keep a record of wrongs;
Love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.
Love never gives up; its faith, hope,
and patience never fail.

(can't remember from where I got this one)

~ here's one of my favourites...
~ yeah, I'm happy with the truth..
~ i don't keep a record of wrongs.. tak kuasa ;)

FERRARI RULES!

~ French GP - The Winners ~

I am so, so happy today! It's Ferrari 1-2 again at Circuit De Neuvers, Magny Cours, France.

It's Kimi (my Kimi) in the first place, Felipe Massa 2nd and Lewis Hamilton of McLaren 3rd.

At the beginning, it was Massa who's in the pole position, followed by Lewis in the second place and Kimi 3rd. Our friend Alonso was 10th. Yeah when Kimi overtook Lewis at the beginning of the race, I was all jumping and screaming heheh.

And although I really admire Hamilton's performance greatly, I am still loyal to my team. Schumi's team, the Red Hot! Yes, I am deeply loyal to Ferrari. My sister was once a great fan of Mika and the McLaren team, as with my Jedi Knight. But me, it's Ferrari from the start, always Ferrari. Always. I kan the Lady in Red *wink*. No matter what, it's always Ferrari. FERRARI RULES!

NEXT STOP : BRITISH GP @ SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT - July 8, 2007

ahem : Happy Birthday To You :)
